Susan told investigators that she had tried to end all of their lives by putting the car in neutral and letting it roll down the boat ramp, but she pulled on the parking brake and stopped the car. She did this three times before she stood outside the car, reached in and released the parking brake, and sent the car with her two sons, 3-year-old Michael and 14-month-old Alex, into John D. Long Lake.
